We are very pleased to welcome a new vendor, MY DAILY BREAD, to the HARVEST. These guys present a wonderful range of Organic Breads with favorites like Sourdough and Honey Whole Wheat as well as Vegan Spelt Bread, Dessert Breads such as Cinnamon Buns or Dark Chocolate Bread w. Organic Zucchini, Bagles, Cookies, and even gluten-free Brownies! Check out their entire Bakery Goods listing in the Products section on the left of The Market page.
MY DAILY BREAD also does Organic Jams, Jellies, and Preserves, including the delicious Organic Rosy-Peach Jam and the Chemical-Free Fig Preserves. You’ll see these and others listed in the Processed Foods tab in the Products section, and you might want to see their website under the Our Growers page for more on their story.
A Couple of Other Notes: On the Vegetables front, 2 varieties of Kale are making their first Fall appearance courtesy of LEILANI’S, along with Zucchini, Squash, and Okra, and FIVE HENS FARMS has Beets. There’s still a pretty good offering of other veggies from Green Beans to Butternut Squash, so take a good, thorough look at everything that’s available for your table right now!

Fall is here and we’re beginning to see some “new faces” on The Market Menu. FIVE HENS FARMS is back with the first of their Fall Beets, ples Eggs and selected free-range Pork. LEILANI’S has added a couple of new grilling and stuffing Peppers, and their Squash is making a reappearance, but the big news from LEILANI’S is Organic Vegetable Plants! Available this week in the Live Plants section of The Market are 4-packs of *Broccoli, Cauliflower, and Georgia Collards plants, grown in organic soil, non-GMO and chemical-free. Plus next week it looks like the first Kale will be ready! Lots of things beginning to happen, lots more coming. Stay Tuned!!

HI EVERYONE!
The first glimmers of Fall are manifesting, and with them the promise of new, delicious tastes and fresh recipes to come. BRADLEY’S FARMS is locally famous for their cooking Pumpkins and their Butternut Squash, fabulous for soups and casseroles, plus they have several different varieties of Garlic for you to enhance your cooking with. BRADLEY’S FARM is opening to the public this weekend, and is a great place for superb Pumpkin selection.
Elsewhere, LEILANI’S has lots of fresh Squash available, more Potatoes, and new Okra as well. The Garden Center at LEILANI’S, opens for Fall Wednesdays through Sundays, with new Shrubs and Perennials, Pansies and Mums on the way, plus organic Vegetable Plants in another week here online.
Fall Vegetables like Kale, Lettuce, Spinach, and many others will join The Market roster in the next week or two, so lots of good things are coming your way!

Lots of things to talk about this week. New from BRADLEY’S, several varieties of Garlic, Butternut Squash, cooking Pumpkins, and good availability for their Clemson Spineless Okra. LEILANI’S also has Okra, Green Beans, Eggplant, and lots of Peppers. Unfortunately no Tomatoes for 2 or 3 weeks, but we will have them for the Fall! GRACE ACRES FARMS is accepting Deposits for their Whole Free-range Chickens and also has Chicken Livers for you available now.
Fall Produce like Lettuces and Kale will start becoming available in 2-3 weeks as well, so stay tuned!!

There’s several things more coming shortly in the pipeline, but you’ll see a bit of a shortage for the next couple of weeks. HI EVERYONE! First up, the Dawson Local Harvest still has good quantities of fresh Produce for your Labor Day Celebrations, including Okra from BRADLEY’S, Tomatoes, Peppers, Eggplant, and more from LEILANI’S, fresh Pork for barbecue from FIVE HENS, and other delectables, so check out The Market page for this week.
Second, our Growers are hard at work seeding and planting for the Fall season. More Tomatoes and Cucumbers have been planted at LEILANI’S, and their cool-weather crops like Broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, Kale, and others are in the ground and on the way. BRADLEY’S also has Pumpkins, Gourds, and other Fall specialties. Lots of exciting things are on the way, lots to look forward too very soon.

There Will Be Okra, I Promise!
AND HELLO EVERYONE! GROWING PAINS! We’re still a Market in its first year and there is definitely a learning curve (and accompanying stupid curve) as things get sorted out. I’ve been promising Okra for two weeks now, without any showing up for you to order. That’s finally fixed and there will be plenty for you this week. Hooray, all you Tomatoes with Okra fans! You can still do deposits for the Free-range Chicken, lots of people are enjoying the Free-range Pork, lots of Eggplant, Green Beans, and Peppers, and we still have Tomatoes. Fresh Cantaloupe and Watermelons will be here in a couple of weeks, and Broccoli, Cauliflower, and other cool-weather Vegetables are being planted now for the Fall, not to mention BIG Pumpkins from BRADLEY’S PUMPKIN PATCH!
