Yes indeed, this is the last Dawson Harvest before Christmas. So let’s start with some gift-y items. HANALEI BATH prides itself on all-natural no-chemical Bath & Beauty products, from Lavender Whipped Shea Butter to their Holiday Essential Oil Blend, to Eucalyptus Spearmint Hand Soap. Find their excellent products in the Bath & Beauty section.
MY DAILY BREAD has Holiday Gifts as well. MDB has freshly-made organic Jams & Jellies, many made from Fruit grown on premises. Flavors like Muscadine Jelly, Raspberry Jam, and their signature Hot Pepper Peach Jam are all $6.00. Updates for This Week’s Market: BACK IN TIME FARM has added a Chicken Broth made from their Certified Naturally Grown birds which is a perfect start for soups, gravies, etc. It joins their Chicken Breasts, Wings, and Chicken Skins (yes, you read that right) which fried are apparently the rage now (like pork rinds?). They are all on the Meats listing. Vegetable-wise The Market has a variety of Lettuces and Salad Mix, plus Kale, Turnip Greens, and Bok Choi. Several varieties of delicious, crunchy Radishes and Turnips are also available.
Don’t forget our amazing Yeast Rolls and Challah to finish off your main courses. Holiday Dessert specialties include Eggnog poundcake with Streusel, Chocolate Gingerbread cookies, and White Chocolate Raspberry Muffins, but MY DAILY BREAD has plenty more to choose from. ’Tis the Season for family gatherings, block parties, social shindigs, office celebrations, and so forth. We can’t help with the drinks, and you don’t want to hear me sing, but when it comes to food, DAWSON HARVEST has excellent choices! Hostess Gift? How about delicious Eggnog Poundcake with Streusel. Supposed to Bring a Dip? Yummy Beer-Buzzed Cheese Dip or Buffalo Blue Cheese Dip (or both!) will really hit the spot. Also a great alternative is the dreamy Hot Pepper Peach Cheese Log. Yes, it is December and there’s a lot of News! Produce is pretty plentiful, with Red, Green, and Romaine Lettuces, Kale, plus a tasty multicolored Salad Mix.all available this week. Also, Red and Icicle Radishes, Scarlet, White, and Purple-Top Turnips, Bok Choi, and Turnip Greens provide variety. And you can expand your Menu with yummy Eastern European dishes like fermented Okra, Cherry Tomatoes, Sauerkrauts, and Garlic Dill Pickles.
Christmas Goodies abound with MY DAILY BREAD. Eggnog Poundcake with Streusel, Chocolate Gingerbread, White Chocolate Raspberry Muffins, and Christmas Cookie and Sweetbread platters are great Party treats as well as Holiday gifts. JUST ADDED! TOMATOES and New HOLIDAY DESSERTS!
TOMATOES? I know, sounds crazy. We did an experiment with Tomatoes in the new High Tunnel hoophouse, and we got some! There’s about 3 orders of ripe Assorted Heirlooms plus Green Tomatoes for frying, in Vegetables.
MY DAILY BREAD also jus added delicious New HOLIDAY DESSERTS. My favorite (just barely) are yummy White Chocolate Raspberry Muffins, just edging out the Eggnog Pound Cake with Streusel, but the bakers really like the Chocolate Gingerbread Cookies! You’ll find them in Fresh Bakery.
YOU CAN ORDER THESE, the Tomatoes, and all the other Veggies, Beef, Milk, Chicken, Eggs, Yeast Rolls, and more until 9 pm TONIGHT!

HI EVERYBODY!
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and didn’t barf from too much turkey (I think Leilani came close). Anyway, The Market is back to its normal schedule of customer ordering Tonight through Tuesday at 9 pm, with Pickup Friday. And we have lots available on The Market this week. Here’s what’s happening.
Both Beef and Chicken are back on the Menu, with Grass-fed Ground Beef, Brisket, Beef Tips, Roasts, Steaks, and more all available, and pastured Chicken Breast, Wings, Sausage, and more also listed. I would suggest you think about what you’re gonna need for this Holiday season, plan ahead, and go ahead and order what you’ll want. Supplies are not unlimited.
On the Vegetable side, crisp Lettuce Mix is abundant, and so is Large Leaf Kale, and Pak Choi is also ready for your stir-fry. In Radishes we’ve got beautiful white ‘Icicle’ Radishes, along with the small crunchy Reds. And how about a mess o’ Greens, as in Turnip Greens, along with both white Hakurei and purple-top Turnips. And finally fresh-picked organic Green Tomatoes!
And you can add tasty variety to your dinner table with CULTURED TRADITIONS yummy and healthy offerings like Fermented Okra, Coconut Kefir, Fermented Cherry Tomatoes, Sauerkrauts, and more, in the Fermented / Probiotic listings. Here’s how it works: the Market will open for Orders Tonight at 8 pm, as usual, BUT it will close Tomorrow (Monday) night at 11pm! This allows you to get those last-minute Yeast Rolls, Caramel Apple Bread, Holiday Cookie Platters, Turnip Greens, Milk, Beer-buzzed Cheese dip, Eggs for breakfast and baking, Hot Pepper Peach Cheese Log, and much more!
No Beef, Chicken, or Cultured Traditions this week due to the early Market.
PRODUCE THIS WEEK: Turnip Greens, a Holiday favorite, are in and ready for your Thanksgiving dinner. Surprisingly, we also have Green Tomatoes (yes, in November!), plus white and purple-top Turnips are in now. Fresh Lettuce Salad mix, tasty and crisp, joins The Market this week, and Pak Choi remains in good supply.

While this is great for Yeast Rolls, Challah, Desserts, Eggs, etc. we cannot get Beef & Chicken deliveries that week, which means you must order all the delicious, natural Chicken and Beef you’ll want for that weekend By 9pm TONIGHT for pickup this FRIDAY!

JUST IN TIME For Thanksgiving and the Holidays, too! BACK IN TIME FARM has their superb Certified Naturally Grown pastured Chicken available for sale now. Chickens are grass-fed, supplemental feed is organic, and no antibiotics are used for the purest, most-natural Chicken you can get! Chicken Breasts, Breakfast Sausage, Livers, and Feet (essential for great broth) are some of what is on the Menu.
And How About Steaks this weekend or a nice pot roast? COPPERHEAD HOMESTEAD has also returned to The Market this week with these and more natural pasture-fed Beef including Ground Beef, Brisket, Short Ribs, and T-bones, as well as several combination Packages for the busy family. You’ll find all the Chicken and Beef listed in the Meats, free-range pastured section.
NEW VEGETABLES THIS WEEK: We see a couple of new Vegetables for this week’s Market. First up, Turnip Greens, stir-fried with garlic and oil (healthy version), or slow-cooked for hours with a smoked turkey leg a la Paula Deen (the way I like ’em). Next, Pak Choi, the wonderful Asian veggie perfect for stir-fry Chicken & Beef, leaves and stalks in soups, and leaves added to salads for a sweet & crunchy texture. Also, Purple-Top Turnips can be boiled with the greens, or the bulbs sliced for a touch of crunch and spice in a salad. Look in Vegetables for availabilities this week.
THANKSGIVING PRE-MARKET: The Dawson Local Harvest will have a Thanksgiving Pre-Market on Tuesday, Nov. 20th, 2 days before Thanksgiving. This is a great time to order all the Breads, Desserts, Dips, and Vegetables you’ll want for the Holidays. Ordering will start as usual Sunday night, Nov. 18th at 8pm, but will close a day earlier on Monday night, 11 pm, with orders available for pickup Tuesday the 20th 3-6 pm.
PLEASE NOTE: Because of scheduling difficulties, PLEASE ORDER ALL BEEF & CHICKEN FOR THE HOLIDAYS in THIS WEEK’S MARKET for pickup THIS FRIDAY. Sorry, that’s the only way it will be possible.
