Pleased to have some Hot news for the first full month of Summer! First of all, super-tender pasture-fed Chicken from BACK IN TIME FARMS is once again on The Market. Got a good variety of choices and you know how good it is.
Second, we have a couple of new entries on the Produce side of the Harvest. Blackberries, plump and tasty, are now available on The Market in the Berry category. Also being picked now, that culinary essential without which Italian cuisine would cry deep and bitter tears – - I’m talking about Garlic! We’ve got it, fresh and flavorful, ready for you in the Vegetable section.

TOMATOES ARE FINALLY HERE! Yummy, juicy, delicious in a way “commercial store-bought” will never be!! For all of us Herbivores, this is the time of year we live for! Sold by the pound are Assorted Varieties (a selection from everything), Assorted Heirlooms (a choice of Heirlooms only), Cherokee Purples (maybe the best Heirloom ever), and Green Tomatoes (almost ripe, great for frying). Also available are Assorted Cherry Tomatoes ( a mix of golden, red, and Black cherry) in pints.
OTHER VEGGIES: Some of the other Vegetables available now are ZUCCHINI ( straight green and 8-ball), Yellow SQUASH, CUCUMBERS, KOHLRABI, BROCCOLI, CABBAGE, KALE, CHARD, SNOW PEAS, and LEEKS. WOW, sounds like you’re gonna need space in the ’fridge!

Wanted to make sure everyone is aware of the abundance of Veggies right now. Let’s start with crunchy, ultra-fresh Broccoli, truly scrumptious no matter how you cook it. Lesser-known but equally tasty , Kohlrabi is quite versatile and lends a different taste to your meals. Thinking Asian? Chinese Cabbage and Baby Leeks combine with other veggies and meats in all sorts of interesting ways.The Harvest’s Produce Palette will never be broader than now, with Cucumbers, Squash, Kales, Collards, Cabbage, Swiss Chard, Zucchini, and our first red Tomatoes coming out of the fields. It’s an exciting time for Produce-lovers. Don’t miss out!

NEW VEGETABLES from LEILANI’S have joined The Market this week! Just ready-to-pick delicious fresh Squash and crispy Snow Peas are available for the first time this year. They join Spring Green Onions and Gonzales Cabbage as Summer Vegetables begin to make their appearance on the Market Menu. And (big secret!) the first Tomatoes of the year will be ready on perhaps 3 weeks! There’s plenty of other Veggies like Kales, baby Leeks, and Lettuces as well as all the other wonderful goodies you find every week on the Dawson Local Harvest.
