HI EVERYBODY!
Hope you are all enjoying this wonderful Fall weather (finally!). You still are able to have wonderful cool-weather Vegetables thanks to one of the premier Growers in north Georgia, LEILANI’S. They provide Veggies to several Locally-grown Harvests in the area and Dawson Harvest is fortunate to have an all-season grower supplying The Market. Your support of Dawson Harvest is much-needed and very appreciated!
So What’s New? Let’s start with Kale, Scarlet with a distinctive red tinge, frilly leaves, and nice flavor, and Winterbore, a more traditional ruffled blue-green Kale. Next up, ‘Hansel’ Eggplant, a smaller, more slender & tender black eggplant that can be roasted and grilled, but for a great (and very interesting) Greek pasta, check out Orecchiette online for a real taste treat. Shelling Peas are in, but only for a couple of weeks, and Tomatillos are still surprisingly available. Also, last week for Squash! There’s plenty more here, so look at the Vegetable section of The Market for this week’s availabilities.
EGGS ARE BACK from FIVE HENS, aling with their free-range Pork Chops, the last of their slab Bacon, and Quick-frozen Shrimp from Ton’s.
MY DAILY BREAD is also back this week with their wonderful Desserts like their Organic Pumpkin Roll, fabulous Breads, Bagels, Cookies, and Jellies, and so much more. Look in the Bakery Goods, Prepared Foods, and Processed Foods sections.
THE DAWSON LOCAL HARVEST is now a free, no-fee Market! That’s right, there’s no Annual Membership fee on your account. It doesn’t get better than that!
THE MARKET WILL OPEN Sunday night at 8pm!
REMEMBER! You can order until Tuesday night at 9 pm. Pick up your order at Leilani’s Gardens Friday afternoons from 4 to 7pm.
