We’d like to welcome back our delicious friends Turnips! The white Hakurei are absolutely gorgeous, but the Scarlet Queen when sliced and added to a salad presents lovely white-with-red-swirls highlights which makes for a stunningly attractive dish (tastes great, too!). They rejoin Bok Choi, Collards, Kale, and Spinach in the Vegetable section this week.
Have you heard of Egglands Best Eggs, the supposedly superior supermarket Eggs? Well, we can do you one better with FIVE HENS FARMS Free-range Eggs. For about the same price as Egglands you’ll get superb all-natural deep-golden yolk Eggs that taste truly amazing. Try them and see what you’ve been missing!

The Dawson Local Harvest is very fortunate to have a fantastic Gluten-free Baker in MY DAILY BREAD! For those of you who have a gluten intolerance this is wonderful news, but it’s not necessary to have that intolerance to be able to enjoy what are some truly excellent (and tasty) products like their Gluten-free Glorious Morning Muffins (order this only if you love organic apples, carrots, coconut and walnuts in a breakfast muffin!).
And you don’t even have to be human to enjoy DAILY BREAD. Your dog will absolutely love their Cheeseburger Dog Treats!

Great Winter Salads and More!
HI EVERYBODY
Add some variety to your table this winter with easy and tasty salads. As an example our Hakurei Turnips are a wonderful taste treat with a little sweet-and-sour thing going on. Basically wash and cube 4-5 Turnips in boiling water 15 min., then cube a couple of Granny Smith or similar apples, about 4 oz. fresh or crushed pineapple, and a bunch of our Spring Green Onions chopped pretty fine. Just add 1/4 cup oil, 1/2 cup sugar, sweetener, or honey, 2 tbsp. water, and salt & pepper to taste and pour over the salad. Sounds odd, tastes, great!
